WhatsApp rolls out new privacy policy

WhatsApp’s current privacy policy has changed

To begin with, WhatsApp is encrypted from bottom to bottom, so your message is secure. WhatsApp provides three updates – the way your data is processed by the application; how businesses can use hosting services on Facebook to store and manage theirWhatApp chats.

What data will be collected by WhatsApp?

As far as updates are concerned, the revised privacy policies and service terms of WhatsApp provide more detail about how the app gathers and maintains user data. New sections include transaction, payment and location data, to provide information on the accurate collection of data through the application. WhatsApp also has unique company interaction information found in its messaging app.

WHATSApp privacy

The most important improvements in both revised privacy and service policies are how WhatsApp exchanges details with Facebook and its subsidiaries. The most significant changes occur.

Established users have been given the option of not getting their WhatsApp account details shared with Facebook until the new update. This does not appear this time, however.

Does the WhatsApp share details with Facebook?

“The information that we exchange with other Facebook companies includes your account registration (such as your phone number), transactional details, service-related information, information about how you communicate with others (including businesses) using our services, mobile device information, your IP address, and may include other information identified in the Privacy Policy section entitled ‘Information We Collect’ or obtained upon notice to you or based on your consent,” WhatsApp noted in a dedicated FAQ section detailing the information it shares with Facebook’s companies.
